Assumed knowledge: Any two units of English.
Recommended studies: Studies in a range of science, humanities, visual arts or design subjects.
If you are a non-current school leaver, previous studies and work experience in a related industry would be of assistance.

Additional selection criteria: If you are a non-current school leaver it is compulsory for you to submit a Personal Statement to UTS by 30 September 2005.
Major studies: Animation, computing, design history, graphic design, information design, new media, theory and critical thinking, typography, video design, web design.

Practical experience: In third year the course offers a professional experience program, project management, international exchange and community projects.
Career opportunities: Examples include graphic design, film and television graphics, art direction for advertising, television and film, development of design strategies for promotional activities, magazine and book design, digital animation, corporate design, content structure and functional information and interface design for CD-ROM, multimedia and the internet, exhibition design, environmental communication, photography, art directors, animators, new media designers, illustrators, design writers and commentators.

Additional information: This course emphasises creativity, innovation and communication in the analysis and visualisation of information through print, screen and interactive multimedia technologies.
